Who We Are
A Community-Led Response
The Dingle Heart Safe Community First Responder (CFR) group is a volunteer organization directly linked to the National Ambulance Service (NAS). We are your neighbours, local business owners, and community members trained to step up when it matters most.
We provide rapid, life-saving medical interventions for the local community in the critical minutes before an ambulance arrives.
Bridging the Gap
Given how far out on the peninsula we are, ambulance dispatch times can be significant. In medical emergencies like cardiac arrest, every single second counts.
The CFR group bridges this geographical gap. By ensuring equipment like our publicly accessible AEDs are strategically placed and maintained, we act as the crucial first link in the "Chain of Survival."

Being a first responder isn't just about answering the call; it is about continuous preparation. Our team undergoes rigorous and regular training under the governance of the National Ambulance Service.
We train not only our own responders but the wider public, ensuring the Dingle Peninsula is a safer place for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.
